Why is there insufficient air supply for biomass boilers?

12 Jan, 2022

Biomass boiler is a kind of boiler equipment with low use cost. The combustion energy used by it is a kind of renewable clean energy, mainly including some crop straws, wood chips and other agricultural and forestry wastes. In practical applications, in order to improve the combustion efficiency of fuel, it is often necessary to reasonably adjust the air supply volume of biomass fuel, but sometimes the air supply volume is insufficient.

According to the summary and analysis of biomass boiler manufacturers, the shortage of boiler air supply is often due to the following reasons:

  1. During combustion, pulverized coal and coal blocks are mixed with different particle sizes. The pulverized coal will occupy the gaps of the coal blocks, and will be squeezed and compacted by the gate when entering the grate, resulting in poor air permeability. When the slag is still red, the slag blocking parts are burned and the residual carbon content of the slag is high.

  2. The pulverized coal has serious coal leakage or large resistance, which increases the load of the blower and induced draft fan, and the power consumption is high. The furnace temperature is low, the coal quality is poor and the combustion condition is not good, the furnace temperature is low, and sometimes even fires out, a large number of unburned materials and ash powder block the economizer and air preheater, so that the furnace is in positive pressure combustion.

The above are the two main reasons for the insufficient air supply of biomass boilers given by biomass boiler manufacturers. In order to ensure more sufficient combustion of biomass boilers, special attention should be paid to the above matters when using biomass boilers.
