What can cause the leakage of biomass fuel boiler pipes

14 Jul, 2021

The leakage of biomass fuel boiler pipes will cause the water to be lower than the normal water level, fail to maintain combustion, and affect safe operation. Finding out the cause of the leakage of the biomass fuel boiler pipeline is a necessary measure to prevent the leakage.

What can cause the leakage of biomass fuel boiler pipes

  Oxygen corrosion

For the pressure components of biomass fuel boilers, the water side is mainly electrochemical corrosion, and the fire side (or flue gas side) is mainly chemical corrosion. Oxygen corrosion is electrochemical corrosion, mainly caused by dissolved oxygen in water. At room temperature, the dissolved oxygen concentration is 9.1 mg/L. According to GB1576-2001 ``Industrial Boiler Water Quality Requirements, the rated steam pressure should not exceed 1.0 mpa, and the dissolved oxygen concentration should not exceed 0.1 mg/L, otherwise, it may cause metal corrosion.

  Chlorine corrosion

Chloride ion exchange will cause high corrosion rate of metals. This is due to the small radius of chloride ion, and it is usually an activated anion, which is more active when oxygen is present. With the operation of the boiler, if the salt content of the boiler water increases and the chloride ion concentration continues to rise, more deposits will be deposited on the bottom of the boiler, in areas where the flue and water circulation are weak.
